Your Impact
As Solar Production Manager, you'll oversee the Residential Solar Install team, the Commercial Solar Team, the Electrical team, and our Service team, including their respective superintendents. This is a salaried exempt position where you'll ensure crews complete jobs on time and address field issues that arise. Your leadership will be the driving force behind our operational success.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership & Development
- Ensure all crew members maintain current product certifications
- Manage certifications and coordinate training for new product offerings.
- Ensure field teams attend the safety meetings once a month with the Safety Manager to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Review these practices with your Superintendents and confirm all team members have the necessary safety gear on their bodies and in their trucks.
- Work with field teams to provide all equipment necessary for the work trucks.
- Conduct one-on-ones, annual reviews, and performance improvement plans
- Meet with HR for recruitment, terminations, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and discipline
- Offer support and coaching to train team members
- Plan and execute annual team building events
- Provide team updates, reminders on meetings/events, and other important announcements
- Assist with employee recognition and award achievement certificates at company events/meetings
Project Management
- Track residential, commercial, and ESS project progress to ensure goals are met, budgets are adhered to, project timelines are met, and accuracy is maintained
- Conduct job reviews for new projects and identify potential issues not foreseen at the bid stage
- Review produced plans before they move to permitting and material ordering
- Provide necessary feedback to the team
- Review installations post-installation to ensure they match the plans and discuss discrepancies
- Schedule and reschedule all installs (Electrical, Residential and Commercial Solar)
- Work with Superintendents and Foremen to estimate start/completion dates
- Update customers of changes
- Collaborate with the roofing department to coordinate special tasks like Fast Jack installation, remove and reinstall (R&R) projects, and "above and beyond" (A&B) jobs
Customer & Vendor Relations
- Serve as primary point of contact for customer relations and issues
- Answer incoming emails and calls from customers and team members, directing them to appropriate person/department
- Manage employee relations issues, project related problems, and time & attendance with scheduling
- Meet with general contractors, commercial project managers, and program representatives
- Meet with vendors to discuss product needs, future orders, and potential new product integrations
Business Operations
- Plan and execute effective monthly Production Meetings
- Manage weekly Billing & Financial Tracking (Contract Review, Reporting, Service Billing, Change Orders)
- Oversee material lists/workups for commercial, residential, and Tesla tile projects
- Ensure availability of products before approving jobs into production
- Review purchase orders against the budget to ensure accuracy and prevent overspending
- Initiate Change Orders as necessary
- Assist with tracking inventory, ensuring modules and other products are available
- Work with Greentech/CED in collaboration with the Sales Manager
- Assist team members with company provided phones and coordinate with HR/IT for phone-related issues
- Verify correct software on computers, correct apps on phones, laptops provided, etc.
- Attend strategic meetings, planning sessions, and Total Quality Management (TQM) reviews
- Manage department KPIs and update dashboards weekly
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university OR four or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, AdobeSign, & DocuSign
- Proficiency with Scoop CRM
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct
- Familiarity with Google Workspace products
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety standards and quality assurance
