What Interviewers Are Trying to Get Out of Your Answers
Understanding why interviewers ask certain questions can help you formulate the best answers. Often, they’re looking for examples of how you’ve handled certain situations in the past so they can better predict what kind of employee you’ll be for their organization – these types of questions are called behavioral interview questions. Or, they’re looking to see how serious you are about the opportunity and if you’ve done your homework. Tough questions – like “What’s your greatest weakness?” – are asked not only to learn more about you but also to see how you handle the pressure.
