Location: Odessa Corporate office
Schedule: 8a-5p M-F with travel as needed
Job Summary:
The Estimating Manager manages the estimating function and develops standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies to produce cost estimates for technical projects based on work scope, specifications, and proposal or contract requirements.
This position is responsible for calculating civil construction cost estimates, and you will be involved in the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of a project.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the operations of the Estimating department.
Responsibilities of this Position:
Determining the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
Researching construction documents and analyzing specifications.
Preparing estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.
Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
Preparing estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
Regularly reporting to Senior Leadership and keeping clients updated on the project status.

Facilitate turning over the project to the Operations Team after project award.
Identify and implement improvements to processes, procedures, and products.
Establish preliminary project schedules.
Maintain records of all project details and documentation, including contracts, bids, and correspondence.
Manage a team of Estimators to ensure efficient and effective work performance.
Ensure contractors comply with safety standards and local regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirement:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field.
Minimum 10 years of estimating and/or project management experience particularly in heavy civil and special foundations.
Ability to work closely with other project teams and stakeholders.
Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgment
Strong ability to multitask, prioritizes, and works well under pressure to meet established deadlines
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Project, Power Point, Word, Outlook).
