Job Title: Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Estimator with a blend of field and estimating experience. This role involves understanding job-site activities, coordinating initial setups, and possessing enough technical and industry knowledge to read blueprints, ask the right questions, and suggest solutions during project development. The candidate must have experience as a general contractor and be skilled in negotiating costs with subcontractors and vendors. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and basic Excel formulas is required, along with some knowledge of Procore. This position involves travel, especially during project development and early stages at job sites, and may require working longer hours, including weekends, to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Understand job-site activities and coordinate initial setups.
  • Estimate project costs using spreadsheets.
  • Work as a general contractor in construction projects.
  • Read blueprints, understand client needs, and suggest solutions during project development.
  • Negotiate costs with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Use MS Office, MS Project, and basic Excel formulas effectively.
  • Possess some knowledge of Procore software.
  • Work longer hours, including weekends, as needed to complete tasks.
  • Travel every other week for 3-4 months during project development and early stages at job sites.
  • Commute to the office in Worthington, OH or be willing to relocate to the Columbus, OH area.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial and advanced manufacturing work.
  • Interest in working in the growing Columbus, OH market, particularly in data centers.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office in Worthington, OH. It involves traveling every other week for several months during project development and early stages at job sites. The role may require working extra hours, including weekends, to complete tasks and attend meetings. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
