Job Summary :

The Junior Estimator will perform assignments specific to engineering and construction project estimating duties, necessary to support the Estimating Manager and help the company to pursue new work. This position offers continuous mentoring and training by the Estimating Manager, Senior Level Estimators and Project Managers with Hands On responsibility to grow professionally, learn the necessary know-how and understand the estimating/quotation process.

Responsibilities of this Position :

Reading drawings, specifications, and RFP's

Creating initial detailed take-offs to support construction cost estimates for all trades

Support of Ground Improvement Manager in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals

Obtaining, analyzing, and tracking vendor quotes

Tracking costs and quantities

Accumulating and evaluating historical cost data for the development of future estimates

Reviewing and evaluating take-offs of others from existing drawings or specs

Working with estimating team to strategize final bids

Visiting project sites with Project Manager to better understand our construction methods

Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Job Requirements :

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Must be a team player, as well as have the ability to work independently

Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to read and understand construction drawings/documents

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (highly proficient with Excel)

Physical Requirements :

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering , Geotechnical Engineering or related field

0-2 years of related experience
