HQ LOCATION:  Fresno, CA (Corporate Office)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our client is looking for an experienced Chief Estimator to lead their Estimating Department. In this role, you will report to the Senior Vice President and be responsible for overseeing the entire estimating process, from budgeting and bid preparation to subcontractor negotiations.  This is an opportunity to be part of an elite team, enhance efficiency in estimating operations, and drive competitive bidding strategies.   • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Create and implement estimating strategies to ensure competitive, accurate project bids.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and industry partners.
  • Review bid documents, contracts, and RFPs, flagging any legal or financial concerns.
  • Oversee bid-day operations, including securing bid documents, insurance, and bonding.
  • Analyze bid-to-award ratios to refine and improve estimating accuracy.
  • Collaborate with project acquisition teams to align cost estimates with company goals.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, pricing, and best practices to enhance departmental performance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years' experience in construction estimating, with leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and project management.
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for subcontractor and client interactions.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and cost coding systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year + discretionary bonuses.
  • Profit Sharing: Managed plan with discretionary matching up to 4%.
  • Company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance; dependent coverage available. Includes a preloaded EBA&M card for medical expenses.
  • Two weeks of vacation (increasing to three weeks after five years), plus six sick days annually.
