We are currently seeking a highly motivated ADA Manager located in Philadelphia, PA .
Overview :
The Manager is responsible to administer and implement the Airports Access and Accessibility Program to ensure PHL is in continual compliance with the Act. The Manager will also develop and facilitate new initiatives that will improve the guest experience for everyone who accesses the Airport.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Aviation Management, Disability Studies, or a related field preferred
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities:
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a similar role
- Thorough knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and the Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) Advisory Circular 150/5360-14A
- Understanding of federal, state, and local government regulations and policies, including knowledge of the ADA Act and other laws addressing the rights of people with disabilities.
- Demonstrate extensive experience with a broad range of disabilities.
- Demonstrate extensive experience with contracts & negotiations
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate the Airports efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under the Act, including investigation of any complaint communicated to the Airport alleging the denial of access to a service or program based on disability
- Ensure equal access to all customers and employees who use passenger-facing Airport facilities, programs, or services
- Provide oversight of PHLs compliance activities including the timely responsiveness to all inquiries, comments, or complaints concerning the Airports efforts to provide ADA services and retain records for all communications.
- Complete an airport-wide self-assessment to determine if its passenger-facing facilities, services, policies and practices are accessible to people with disabilities as required by state and federal laws. The self-assessment will be performed every three years. Prioritize issues and develop cost assessment of related corrective measures.
- Ability to advance various alternative formats and alternative technologies that enable people with disabilities to communicate and participate in programs, activities and services available at PHL.
- Promote the Airports programs to comply with and exceed guest expectations regarding accessibility.
- Implement an external committee to educate community leaders and gather constructive feedback from travelers about PHLs ADA initiatives and to address common complaints to improve the overall guest experience for everyone.
- Demonstrate the skills and training necessary to negotiate and mediate on behalf of PHL to anyone who submits a grievance.
- Proactively work with the Airport, tenants, contractors and concessionaires when necessary to identify and implement a mutually agreed upon resolution when the facility is noncompliant and/or upon receipt of a completed grievance form.
- Influence all stakeholders by continually working to expand new ADA initiatives representing the broad spectrum of disabilities to increase guest satisfaction.
- Continually monitor the facility in-person to document any issues that arise and act on findings appropriately.
- Interact with and guide Department of Aviation units, stakeholders, and tenants who renovate and/or build passenger-facing programs and services for ADA compliancy.
- Ensure required FAA signs regarding the ADA Act and Department of Aviations contact information are accessible to passengers and employees.
- Maintain and update PHLs website content to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate and communicate with the City of Philadelphias Office of People with Disabilities on city-wide initiatives.
Salary:
$110,000-$120,000/yr.
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at managements discretion.
