Responsibilities:

The Divisional Projects Engineer will deliver robust and compliant process improvements and lead engineering projects throughout the Insulated Panel division.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Manage engineering projects from conception, through specification design phase, installation, commissioning, and trials while managing multi-discipline teams.
  2. Support, initiate, deploy, and sign off process improvement and efficiency improvement modifications to manufacturing systems at all Insulated Panel sites.
  3. Carry out design and testing tasks on project proposals.
  4. Carry out specific engineering tasks delegated by the Divisional Project Manager as appropriate.
  5. Lead and support both minor and major projects on our manufacturing lines.
  6. Produce engineering design and project support deliverables in line with Kingspan engineering standards.
  7. Recommend and support value added improvement initiatives where appropriate.
  8. Maintain and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and liaison with management, design, and operations staff.
  9. Attend training to develop relevant self-knowledge and technical skills.
  10. Support the local site’s manufacturing process by being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Employer requires at least a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a closely related engineering field and at least two (2) years of work experience with process improvement, business process reengineering, or operational and manufacturing excellence roles within the manufacturing industry.

In the alternative, employer will accept at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a closely related engineering field and at least five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience with process improvement, business process reengineering, or operational and manufacturing excellence roles within the manufacturing industry.

In addition, the employer requires the following:

  • Demonstrated ability reading, analyzing, interpreting, and generating 2D & 3D engineering drawings gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability gathering and analyzing operational data, identifying operational trends, and proposing data-driven operational solutions gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability driving change management and contributing to continuous improvement gained through at least two (2) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Agile gained through at least two (2) years of work experience; and
  • Demonstrated ability reading and understanding complex tooling drawings for mechanical roll forming machinery gained through at least two (2) years of work experience or at least three (3) post-secondary courses related to complex tooling drawings for mechanical roll forming machinery.

All years of experience and coursework may be gained concurrently.

Telecommuting is an option as long as the employee is based in the Columbus, OH region as the employee must conduct regular visits to company offices in the Columbus, OH region.

Travel Requirement: 25% domestic travel and 25% international travel per year required.
