Summary of the Position
The Design Engineer is responsible for preparing fixtures designs, tooling designs, and detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices. As well as, providing dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
Key Deliverables
Must be able to create fixture designs and drawings using SolidWorks
Key Accountability Metrics
Completion Rate % for all new products, ECN changes, and improvement initiatives
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, according to engineering sketches and design proposals
- Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, ideas, and related design data to determine factors affecting component designs
- Develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery, using computer-assisted equipment
Education and/or Experience
- Preferred: Engineering Degree
- Technical School Graduate
- AutoCAD experience is a plus

- Ability to read, blueprints and diagrams
- Knowledge of manual Mill and Lathe equipment
