Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of construction sites, ensuring work progresses according to schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate and oversee the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations, minimizing project risks.
  • Maintain regular communication with project managers, providing updates on progress, risks, and necessary adjustments.
  • Manage the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely availability and delivery.
  • Promptly and amicably resolve conflicts or misunderstandings.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to verify adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Prepare and submit project reports and documentation.
  • Train and mentor construction workers and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Construction Superintendent, with a minimum of 5+ years in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction operations, including equipment, materials, manpower, and overall project management.
  • Strong leadership and human resources management capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with construction software and project management tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • An academic background in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Preference for proficiency in Blue Beam, Trinity, and/or eBuilder.
  • Required OSHA 10 certification.
  • Estimating Experience is required
    1. Understanding Plans & Specifications – Reviewing blueprints, architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) drawings.
    2. Quantity Takeoff – Measuring and calculating material quantities using software like Bluebeam, Planswift, or On-Screen Takeoff.
    3. Material & Labor Costs – Sourcing current pricing for materials and labor based on local market conditions.
    4. Subcontractor & Supplier Quotes – Requesting and comparing bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
    5. Overhead & Profit Considerations – Factoring in indirect costs, contingencies, and markup.
    6. Estimating Software – Utilizing tools such as ProEst, RSMeans, or Sage Estimating for accuracy.
    7. Bid Preparation & Submission – Compiling estimates into competitive, clear, and comprehensive bid proposals. Attending pre-bids and communicating with subcontractors. Motivated to review bid boards daily and pursue projects with minimal supervision.
